Despite moving almost 30 times, Katy Cuthill names Winter Park, FL as the place she is “from.” That said, she and her two children have been in Daytona Beach area 17 years. Katy has completed a bachelors in Business with minors in Mass Communications and Economics from the University of Florida, and a Masters in Divinity from Columbia and University of Dubuque seminaries. In 2015 it became clear amongst her social contacts, that there were inadequate venues for spiritual exploration for people who didn’t feel like they fit or didn’t feel welcome in churches. From this observation an idea was born for Missing Peace (Learn more from the book Pink Haired Mermaid Baby Jesus) a unique, nomadic worshiping community. If there is anything Katy loves more than leading unique expressions of faith in community, its coaching individuals and institutions toward their unique calling in the world. After one such coaching gig in 2021, she was asked to come on board as Senior Pastor at First Presbyterian of Daytona Beach to re-envision what it means to be church in their context. They have since sold their property, developed a new identity statement, and are creating unique vision and mission in Downtown Daytona Beach. In addition Katy is a CoCreator for Daytona Pride, a contributor on the Boss Lady and Green Lectionary podcasts, a board member at FAITH, and co-author of Wholly Leading: Thoughts, Meditations, and Practices for Whole Self Leadership (2023).
